LOL. I have never read Don Pendleton's work, but he sounds more my speed. I've read a lot of McCarthy but yeah, he's kind of like pulp mixed with Hemingway- the dark, depressed, the universe sucks kind of Hemingway that makes you reach for the shotgun. I like to think stories should be...um, fun? Haha. And Pendleton's work sounds like it is exactly that. I'll check him out. I think I'm done with depressing crap. I mean, hell, what's the point? And I don't care for long descriptions of landscapes and rocks and nature, just sitting there. It's okay to experience but writing about it feels as boring as it sounds. Great post, fellows.

I'm not trashing the book. It's OK. The "no untranslated Spanish" made me laugh. Quite often I really CAN'T tell what they said.
